MEET SUSAN

Susan became a co-owner of the Joe Ann Steele Financial Center in 2008 and took on a more active role in the business in 2014. Following her mother Joe Ann’s passing in 2016, Susan became the sole owner, proudly carrying forward the personal service and straightforward approach her mother built the agency around.

With more than 30 years of insurance experience, Susan oversees all aspects of the Financial Center and is a licensed independent insurance agent. She works with a carefully selected group of established insurance carriers to help individuals, families, and businesses find coverage that fits their needs.

A lifelong resident of Lenawee County, Michigan, Susan has deep roots in the community she serves. She believes in treating every client’s needs as she would her own—with personal attention, clear guidance, and genuine care.

For Susan, insurance has always been about more than policies. It’s about people.

Shannon originally joined the Joe Ann Steele Financial Center in 2011 and spent 7 years with the business. During that time, she obtained her bachelor's degree in business administration from Siena Heights University while working full time at the office strengthening her skills in the insurance industry. 

Shannon came back to the office in the spring of 2024 and picked up right where she left off taking care of the client's day-to-day needs and overseeing the client service portion of the business. Her customer service skills are second to none, and she truly cares for every client here at the office and looks forward to assisting them. Shannon completed and passed her licensing exam in 2024 to further her knowledge and skills to assist our clients.  

Shannon prides herself on treating every client as if they were her own parents and genuinely enjoys interacting and getting to know them all.

Joe Ann Steele founded the Joe Ann Steele Financial Center with a simple philosophy: serve people well, treat clients like family, and always give back to the community that supports you.

As a licensed independent insurance agent, Joe Ann built her business by providing individuals, families, and businesses throughout Adrian and Lenawee County with straightforward insurance and financial guidance they could trust.

But Joe Ann’s impact reached far beyond insurance. She was deeply committed to community service, volunteering, and helping others succeed. She became a respected leader in Lenawee County and a mentor to individuals and businesses throughout downtown Adrian.

Today, Joe Ann’s legacy lives on through the Financial Center that bears her name—and through the same commitment to personal service, community, and doing right by people that she believed in from the beginning.
